Hello there! I graduated in May 2009 with my MLIS; however, I consider myself a perennial student. I have a very diverse range of densely interconnected interests, including: technology and its role in culture and history; computers and networking; the history of books, libraries, and other information technologies; linguistics and cognitive science; and science fiction literature (both reading and writing). I have a rather eclectic background. I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and have also lived in Texas, Nevada, Oregon, and Northern California. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1995, majoring in General Studies; I concentrated on physics, mathematics, English, and anthropology. In the 1996-97 school year I did graduate study in anthropology and linguistics, but soon decided to pursue other opportunities. Since then, I have worked in advertising research and in political law. In 2007, I entered the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University, intending to pursue a career that would tie together a number of my interests in a productive field. I now live in Santa Rosa, California, and I am looking for my first library position. Please feel free to drop me a line!
