The mission of the Library History Round Table (LHRT) is to encourage research and publication on library history and promote awareness and discussion of historical issues in librarianship.

    Volunteers needed! Interested in serving the Library History Round Table and interacting with other LHRT members or ALA more generally? LHRT currently has several openings:

    1 volunteer needed for each:

    • LHRT representative on the ALA Program Jury
    • LHRT liaison to the Committee on Professional Ethics (COPE)
    • LHRT liaison to the ALA Recruitment Assembly (new opportunity!)

    We are also seeking LHRT members who are interested in recognizing outstanding accomplishments in the field through work on one of our awards committees.
