    Are you passionate about helping librarians and librarian workers grow in their careers? The Learning Round Table is seeking experienced practitioners in library training and professional development to serve as panelists for our 2025 President's Program at ALA Annual in Philadelphia.

    Our session, "Behind the Bookshelves: Building a Career in Staff Training and Professional Development," will explore the pathways and opportunities in this library specialty. We're looking for panelists who can share:

    • Their journey transitioning into library training and development roles

    • Day-to-day responsibilities and challenges in their current positions

    • Essential skills and competencies for success in the field

    • Impact of their work on librarians, library workers, and organizational culture

    • Advice for librarians and library workers interested in pursuing similar career paths

    Session Details:

    • Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025

    • Time: 10:30 am - 11:30 am Eastern

    • Location: ALA Annual in Philadelphia

    • Format: Moderated panel discussion with Q&A

    Ideal panelists will have:

    • 3+ years of experience in library staff training, professional development, or related roles

    • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities

    • Diverse perspectives and experiences to share

    • Commitment to attending ALA Annual 2025 in Philadelphia
