IFRT Emerging Leaders Project Proposal: Call for volunteers

  • 1.  IFRT Emerging Leaders Project Proposal: Call for volunteers

    Posted Jul 26, 2021 12:01 PM

    Hello IFRT Members!

I am reaching out for volunteers to help develop a project proposal for the Emerging Leaders program, and to possibly serve as a Member Guide to our Emerging Leaders group.

The EL participants work in small groups on a project developed by an ALA Round Table, with a member guide to assist with any questions along the way. As a former EL I have seen how valuable the projects can be for the Round Tables and I believe IFRT would greatly benefit. This is also an opportunity to introduce new librarians to IFRT.

If you are interested in joining a small working group to develop a project or have ideas for a project please reply to me by Friday, August 6th. You can view former EL projects here. The deadline for a proposal is October 1st.

Also, if you are new to the profession I highly encourage you to consider applying to the program. The deadline is August 30.

The ALA Emerging Leaders program is a leadership development program which enables newer library workers from across the country to participate in problem-solving work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into ALA structure, and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. It puts participants on the fast track to ALA committee volunteerism as well as other professional library-related organizations.

    Thank you!

    Chair, Intellectual Freedom Round Table
