    From Roberta Stevens:

    "2/5/10
    Dear Colleagues,
It has been a pleasure for me to serve as your ALA President-elect. I am
so proud of our association ... its dedicated staff and its equally
    committed and energetic members.

At the Midwinter Meeting, my President-elect's report was distributed to
the Executive Board and Council. I am sharing it with you and ask that
you make it available to your units. My objective is to ensure that what
I've worked on or will be working on is easily accessible and
    transparent.

At the Midwinter Meeting, I also had the opportunity to talk with a
number of groups about my 2010-2011 Presidential initiatives. I've
attached a summary of those initiatives and, once again, ask that you
make the information broadly available. In a few weeks, my Advisory
Board and I will begin work in earnest to plan for their implementation.
It will take a team for the successful acccomplishment of these projects
to benefit all types and sizes of libraries. I hope that you will want
to be part of that team.

Finally, my President-elect website has been launched and is available
    at:
    http://www.robertastevens.com

With my gratitude for your support,
    Roberta
