The mission of the Games and Gaming Round Table is to provide the following:
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns surrounding games in libraries;
  • Resources to the library community to support the building and maintaining of library game collections;
  • A force for initiating and supporting game programming in libraries;
  • Create an awareness of, and need for, the support of the value of gaming and play in libraries, schools, and related learning communities.
  • Create an awareness of the value of games and gaming in library outreach and community engagement plans.
  • A professional and social forum for networking among librarians and non-librarians interested in games and gaming.

    Hi Gaming RT folks,

    Are you looking for library game ideas that sneakily introduce STEM concepts? Or you have many ideas but not enough time to turn them into reality?

    The MIT Public Library Innovation Exchange (PLIX) invites public library professionals in the U.S. (that's you!) to apply for our 2026-2027 Library Ambassador Program. From October 2026 through May 2027, join a cohort of 12 like-minded library professionals to try PLIX activities, learn about creative learning pedagogy, and strengthen your local library community through STEAM learning experiences. No prior experience required!

    • ��Mon Sept 21st - Deadline for the PLIX Ambassador Program applications

    • ��Mon Sept 28th - Notification Date

    • ✅Wed Sept 30th - Acceptance Deadline

    • ��Thu Oct 8th, 1-2PM ET - First gathering and unboxing!
