The mission of the Games and Gaming Round Table is to provide the following:
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns surrounding games in libraries;
  • Resources to the library community to support the building and maintaining of library game collections;
  • A force for initiating and supporting game programming in libraries;
  • Create an awareness of, and need for, the support of the value of gaming and play in libraries, schools, and related learning communities.
  • Create an awareness of the value of games and gaming in library outreach and community engagement plans.
  • A professional and social forum for networking among librarians and non-librarians interested in games and gaming.

    Here's your reminder that proposals are due tomorrow for our program at ALA Annual in Las Vegas!


    The Games and Gaming Roundtable is accepting conference presentation proposals on games and gaming in libraries for the American Library Association Annual Conference, June 26- July 1st, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This presentation will take place on Saturday, June 28th from 3-4pm. We'd like to have two speakers during this time period. Presenters will be required to provide a twenty-minute presentation and then be available for a Q & A period.


    Proposals are due January 6, 2014.


    Please include your name, email address, the title of your proposal, a short description and a 200 word abstract of your proposal. If you have previously submitted a proposal to a GameRT program but we're not accepted, we highly encourage you to re-submit for this event.
