Government Information Preservation Forum

Date: Sunday, February 11th

Time: 1:00-2:30PM

Location: Grand Hyatt, Mt. Yale

After two excellent programs at the 2017 Annual Conference about different aspects of preserving government information, GODORT would like to continue the conversation by asking "where do we go from here?"  David Walls from the U.S. Government Publishing Office will discuss how the community can participate in GPO's preservation initiatives. Robbie Sittel from the University of North Texas and Marie Concannon from University of Missouri will discuss the PEGI (Preservation of Electronic Government Information) Project which, through support from IMLS, is engaging diverse groups of stakeholders in conversations around at-risk federal digital information; these conversations will inform a collaborative agenda for future work toward improving preservation of and access to digital-born government information.  The forum will conclude with a discussion and brainstorming session with the audience and the panelists to exchange and promote ideas and projects that help preserve information produced by every level of government so it remains available for future generations.
