  • 1.  Show Up for Our Libraries: How, Where, and Why to Tell Your Library Story

    Posted 17 days ago

    Thursday, March 13th  4:30-5:30 Eastern/3:30-4:30 Central

Join policy and communications experts from ALA's Public Policy and Advocacy Office for a member-exclusive webinar on how to effectively identify, develop, and spread your library stories to decision makers, including state and federal lawmakers. To effectively advocate for libraries, it is critical that we proactively tell lawmakers how libraries are meeting communities' needs every day and why supporting libraries is vital to their constituents. Amidst multiple attacks on libraries, one thing every library advocate can do right now to show up for our libraries is tell their library story.

Hear how ALA and libraries at the state and local level are strengthening our collective abilities to influence key legislators and mobilize grassroots support. You'll also hear the most current federal and state policy updates and insights from ALA member leaders and seasoned policy advocacy staff. The antidote to attacks on libraries is action and this webinar will equip members with clear, actionable steps that all library advocates can take to protect libraries now and in the future.
