I am serving as a member of the PLA nominating committee - and sharing some information with you. Serving on the PLA board was one of the best professional experiences - please apply, share with others or contact me for more information.
The PLA 2025 Nominating Committee is seeking nominees for the positions of PLA president-elect and two directors-at-large on the 2025 spring ballot. If you are a PLA member with leadership or board experience, have been involved with PLA (committee volunteer, scholarship recipient, grantee, etc.), and are passionate about shaping the future of public libraries, then please consider nominating yourself by submitting a candidate biographical form (ALA login required). Self-nominations will help ensure the Committee's slate of candidates represents diverse communities, library sizes, and geographic locations. Members from small and rural libraries are encouraged to apply and as board members may be eligible for meeting travel funding. Visit the self-nomination portal (ALA login required) to get started.
