I mentioned previously that I attended the Arizona Education Association Delegate Assembly. I proposed a resolution that was altered a bit to be more general. I had originally included the Right to Read Act. Here is the result of the resolution that passed. Some requested this text as an example for their state assembly.
The AEA believes that censorship and banning books is a direct attack on student growth and learning. The AEA supports any legislation and policies that affirm choice of reading and opposes any legislation and policies that suppress choice of reading.
