    Good morning,

My name is Don Allgeier, and I have been appointed the chair of this committee. I am looking forward to working with you all. I was hoping we could do a round of introductions including your name,  pronouns,  current professional position, and what excites you about organizational development. I use he/him pronouns and work as the Director for Tillamook County Library in Oregon. I enjoy thinking about organizational development and bylaws from an organizational justice lens.

    Thanks,
    Don

    Don,

Thank you for leading us and for your introduction! My name is Rory Patterson (he/him), and I am the Associate Dean for Planning, Administration, and Operations at Liberty University in Virginia. I do bylaws, policy, and organizational evaluations in my current position, and I have done it for committees at my institution (faculty senate and athletics committees), ALA sections (NMRT and COPE), as well as specialized library organizations' committees. I am looking forward to working with CORE!

    Rory

    Hi Don and everyone,

My apologies for my belated reply.  I am excited to be part of the group.  I am Head of Library Systems and Interim Associate Dean for User Services. In addition to technology, I also enjoy work on organizational development. I am long time LITA active member, had involved with a lot of committees, taskforces, and just got rolling off from the Core Board this month.  I led some preliminary work on Core bylaw template back to the time when the  merger initiated. Look forward to learning more from this group.

    Thanks,

    Hong

    Don, all,
My name is David Dahl (he/him/his), and I'm just getting back from several days out of the office (hence the delayed reply!). I am the Associate Dean of Libraries for Digital Services and Technologies at University of Maryland, College Park. I enjoy the analogy of our organizations to biological ecosystems - today's organizations were built for yesterday's work, so continued development is essential in order to thrive. I've been on the board of the Maryland Library Association in a number of roles for quite some time, including currently as our ALA Chapter Councilor, which has provided many opportunities to scrutinize bylaws. I like the combination of big-picture thinking and detail-oriented action that bylaws/org work entails.

I'm looking forward to working with all of you!

    Best,
    David
