Purpose: Provides a forum for the exchange of ideas among those persons working with or interested in electronic resources; promotes the acquisition and access of electronic resources collections; strengthens communication and cooperation among persons working with electronic resources collections; addresses issues related to collection management and development of electronic resources, their funding, and selection; and contributes to the improvement of education and training of electronic resource archivists and librarians.

    The ALCTS Electronic Resources Interest Group (ERIG) is seeking proposals for speakers at the 2016 ALA Annual Conference meeting.  The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 1:00 – 2:30 PM in the Orange County Convention Center, Room W105A.


    Each speaker will be allotted time for their presentation followed by questions and group discussion. All topics related to electronic resources are welcomed. Proposed topics may include but are not limited to: licensing electronic resources, using evidence based acquisitions programs, assessment of electronic resources usage, troubleshooting access problems and technology support, workflows and best practices in electronic resources management, user engagement with electronic resources and collaboration with other institutions to acquire and deliver electronic resources.


    If you are interested in presenting to ERIG, please send a brief description of your proposed presentation to the interest group chairs, Martin Knott (amuro@umich.edu) and George Stachokas (george.stachokas@auburn.edu). Please be sure to include the following information with your proposal: 1) Presentation Title, 2) Name, 3) Title/Position, 4) Institution and 5) Contact Information.
