About this Group

Purpose: Provides a forum for the exchange of ideas among those persons working with or interested in electronic resources; promotes the acquisition and access of electronic resources collections; strengthens communication and cooperation among persons working with electronic resources collections; addresses issues related to collection management and development of electronic resources, their funding, and selection; and contributes to the improvement of education and training of electronic resource archivists and librarians.

This interest group is part of Core's Metadata and Collections Section.

    The CORE Electronic Resources Interest Group (ERIG) is seeking proposals for 15 minute presentations during the virtual CORE Interest Group Week, July 26-30. ERIG is scheduled for Monday, July 26, 12 p.m. CDT, 1 p.m ET.

     

    We invite you to submit presentations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives or projects with electronic resources.

     

    Sample topics of interest include: 

    • Electronic resource collection development in DEI
    • Accessibility initiatives related to electronic resources
    • Electronic resource management and/or description initiatives related to DEI
    • DEI competencies for electronic resource professionals

    Proposals should include:

    • Brief information about author(s)/presenter(s)
    • A 75-150 word abstract

     

    If you are interested in presenting, please email Abigail Sparling your proposal at ajsparli@ualberta.ca with the subject line ERIG proposal by Friday, June 18, 2021. Presenters will be notified the first week in July .
