Purpose: Focuses on both broad and specific preservation issues in libraries. Topics encompass physical collections generally, and occasionally digital preservation issues. We serve academic, public, special, and other types of libraries.

  • 1.  PADG list is moving to ALA Connect--URGENT ACTION REQUIRED

    Good morning,

     

    Next week the old PADG listserv is moving to ALA Connect. The old PADG email and listserv will no longer function. You will need to join this community to continue receiving posts via email.

     

    Go to:

    https://connect.ala.org/core/communities/community-home?CommunityKey=aeb5b1e5-3c0e-418b-b228-bb203c7621f8

     

    If you are not yet a member, you should see a blue "Join Community" button just under the "Home" tab. It is blue, just like banner, so it can be easy to miss. Click on this button. You will be asked for your email address and subscription choice. Fill these out, then click the "Yes join the community" button.

     

    Anyone can view all content in the group, but only people who join it can post to it. Anyone can join to participate. If you are a member of ALA, it might be easier to log into ALA Connect first. Go to www.connect.ala.org and sign in.

    Clarification from ALA:

     

    "Core interest groups are indeed open to non-ALA and non-Core members. Folks do need to have an ALA account in order to log in to Connect and join one of our interest groups, but they can create one for free at http://www.ala.org/Template.cfm?Section=login&template=/CustomSource/register/register.cfm. "

    Please help spread the word to anyone you know who is not an ALA member and is losing access to the old PADG listserv.
