Purpose: Provides a forum for the exchange of ideas among those persons working with or interested in electronic resources; promotes the acquisition and access of electronic resources collections; strengthens communication and cooperation among persons working with electronic resources collections; addresses issues related to collection management and development of electronic resources, their funding, and selection; and contributes to the improvement of education and training of electronic resource archivists and librarians.

    The St. Louis Community College Libraries are looking for two librarians to join our team! Both positions require a Master's degree from an ALA accredited program in Library/Information Science or its equivalent. The salary range for both positions is $55,681.

     

    Librarian, Forest Park

    Under direction of Library Manager, this Librarian provides oversight of circulation services at Forest Park Campus Library and support for Lead Librarian, Systems districtwide. In addition to providing direct public services, duties may include developing and supporting processes for various circulation activities: daily notices, holds, course reserve processing, material returns, student requests, and other activities. The librarian in this role will assist with administering the ILS, chat system, room and computer booking systems, the discovery system, statistics dashboard, maintaining the libraries' web pages and guides, and/or resolving technical issues for library staff districtwide. No cataloging or acquisitions experience is required. In addition, the Librarian serves as part of a professional library team and will participate on various library committees.     Librarian, Collections

    This Librarian provides access to library collection resources of all formats by performing original and copy cataloging, reviewing and resolving issues and problems in the library's catalog and discovery interface, and completing catalog maintenance and authority projects. The Librarian in this role is responsible for the college archives and digital repository and works with other units across the district to develop a plan and process for the work. In addition, the Librarian serves as part of a professional library team, including collection development and some public service activities. This Librarian (Collections) reports to the Lead Librarian, Acquisitions and is based at the Meramec Campus Library.
