The Competencies and Education for a Career in Cataloging IG is meeting for a managed discussion to consider three topics for Annual 2012. Members of the Interest Group will consider the following: how cataloging jobs have changed and what kind of succession planning is being done at institutions to pass on knowledge; what practitioners want educators to teach in cataloging - what are the core competencies needed to qualify for a job in cataloging; and, eliminating stereotypes about cataloging to attract a new generation to the industry.
