    Hi everyone!

My name is Cinthya, and I am the library director of the Auraria Library which serves three institutions that are co-located in downtown Denver: University of Colorado, Denver; Metropolitan State University of Denver; Community College of Denver. We are a commuter campus with about 30,000 students and a highly diverse student body. Our staff is about 50 full-time employees and 45 student employees.

I'm about a year and a few months into this directorship and we are overhauling everything-strategic planning, how we engage with stakeholders, policies/procedures, employee development, and budgets. It's been a very challenging and exciting role and I just now feel like we have a good handle on how we want to shape things and move the organization forward.

I'm happy to hear others' experiences and to share what I've learned so far. Looking forward to being a part of this group!

Welcome Cinthya. Sounds like you've had a busy year!  I've been in this role for 9 months now and working through a similar list of to-dos.  In fact, that may be a good discussion thread to start here: "High Priority Activities in Your First Year."  Perhaps you'd like to start the thread?

P.S. I was at Michigan Tech for many years and remain a huge Tech hockey fan.  I certainly miss those glory days of the WCHA when we played Denver and CC.  Nothing quite like the noise a large group of Pioneer hockey fans can make in the Magness Arena.
