committee planning questions

    Greetings -
I just wanted to check in with everyone regarding our ALCTS committee work.  Here are a couple of questions:

    1) Do you plan on attending the ALA Midwinter Meeting in January? If so, and if there are enough of us, we could possibly have a committee meeting.  However, if few of us plan to attend in person, we can have a virtual meeting instead. Please let me know by August 22.

    2) Even if we have a virtual meeting, I plan on going to the Midwinter Meeting and would be happy to meet with anyone else who goes. I may also meet with one or more other people involved with IGs. If you plan on attending Midwinter and would like to join me in a meeting, let me know.

    3) Have those of you who are currently liaisons to an Interest Group received the IG's report/summary from your group?  Please see my earlier message and the document on our Committee site (in the Library) about liaison roles (Responsibilities of CMS Liaisons to Interest Groups). The report needs to be sent to me. It can be the same report the group submits via the ALCTS reporting form/process (content from the latter goes to ALCTS News).

    4) Regarding IG liaison responsibilities, I haven't heard back from everyone regarding liaison preferences.  We have two IGs without liaisons, and although we have two people willing to be liaison to more than one IG, there are enough people on the committee for each of us to liaise with one. If you haven't replied yet and would like to be a liaison to either the Collection Development Librarians of Academic Libraries IG or the Collection Evaluation and Assessment IG, please let me know by August 22. The Schedule of CMS Interest Group Renewals and Liaisons 2019-20 is on our ALA Connect committee site in the Library section (if you don't see it, please let me know).

Please feel free to share any questions or suggestions with the group, or contact me via email at nacoop01@syr.edu.

    Thanks very much,

    Tasha
