2021 Midwinter (CORE IG Week) TSMALIG Virtual Meeting

    Hello from  New York City!

I hope everyone is staying safe and sane in the midst of these very trying times!

We have successfully moved the Technical Services Managers in Academic Libraries Interest Group to the new CORE division, which is why you are seeing this discussion post.

It's time (actually past time!) to start planning for the Technical Services Managers in Academic Libraries Interest Group (TSMALIG) meeting for the Core Interest Group Week in February 2021

We are still figuring out when we will meet this year within this new conference format and I will update everyone when we have a time.

We would like to begin to solicit discussion topics for the meeting. This is a very low-maintenance, democratic, member-driven procedure!  I have created a Google Doc where you can suggest any and all ideas you have for a discussion table at our meeting.  We'll see how many suggestions we get.  Unlike years in the past, we are not limited to room size! Please, suggest away and we'll see what we come up with! Usually we have 4-6 discussion topics, but this could be an interesting year for a variety of reasons! Please do not hesitate to share ideas.

To submit a suggestion, please go to: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WLY8up_BMKoWNdqgpoyT4LJPebT-0F5W5XKrtlJRQ1I/edit?usp=sharing

Please note the document has two other tabs.  The second tab is super important – an RSVP.  If you can come to meeting, please say so!  And if you would be willing to lead a discussion table, THANK YOU.  It's not hard – you just need to think of a few discussion questions, and often conversation flows so vigorously that you don't even get to all of them.

The last tab is FYI, a list of recent discussion topics we've had.  One could argue either way: we should try to avoid duplication or we should continue the conversation!

If you have any problems with the google sheet, please let me know. You can email me through Connect or you can email me directly at led2150@columbia.edu

Thank you!  Let me know if you have any questions, or want to be removed from the list, or for anything else you might need in relation to TSMALIG!
