Library of Congress market research on commercial library binding

  • 1.  Library of Congress market research on commercial library binding

    Posted Jul 12, 2021 11:58 AM

    Hello All,

Following discussion at the meeting of the Preservation Administration Interest Group during ALA Annual 2021, the Library of Congress Preservation Directorate is initiating market research on aftermarket or commercial library binding. This market research will aim to better understand the availability of binding materials and services, costs and other market factors that may affect these services, and the role of standards in this area of library services.

The Preservation Directorate will issue a preliminary set of market research questions in approximately one week to request community feedback on the proposed topics, and will then distribute a final list of questions and scheduling information for on-line meetings for discussion of those topics. At least two sessions will be held, in order to accommodate standard business hours across all US time zones.

If you are interested in attending or have any questions, please contact us at preserve@loc.gov. Thank you.
