    Registration is now open for the Core Symposium on the Future of Library Binding, which will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, January 26, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm CT. Hosted by the Core Preservation Administration Interest Group and Core Preservation Standards & Practices Committee, this free event will feature updates from the LOC Preservation Directorate, perspectives on the state of the industry, and a discussion on current practice and the need to pivot in response to changing commercial binding landscape.

    Focusing discussion on the current crisis facing the binding industry and its impact on library binding, the symposium will take place in three sections addressing the state of the industry, library binding standards, and considering current practices in view of these impending changes.
