    To Members of the ASCLA Library Consultants Interest Group (LCIG) --

    Do you have ideas about programs or activities that would like the LCIG to sponsor? Please consider becoming part of the Leadership team for next year. We are looking for volunteers for the Leadership Team for 2013-2014 (must be ASCLA members). You can also urge a colleague to consider the opportunity to get involved. To volunteer or get more information contact LCIG Team Leader, Jeannette Smithee - smithee@seflin.org by January 15, 2013.

    • Vice-Leader / Leader-Elect

    Plans, communicates with & coordinates tasks of appointed team members (Conference Program, or other priority projects) Becomes Leader and then Past-Leader.

    • Secretary (2 years)

    Maintains history of the Interest Group -- includes minutes from Leadership Meetings, copies of Interface articles, copies of other documents (Minutes and notes posted to ALA Connect serve as the archive)

    All LCIG members are welcome to the Leadership Team meeting at Midwinter in Seattle.  The meeting (open to all LCIG members - and potential members) will be held on Sunday January 27 at 3:00 pm at the Grand Hyatt Seattle in the Discovery Room. This will be followed at 4:30 by the Discussion Forum at the same location. The Discussion Forum topic will be Ethical Issues Faced by Library Consultants. Nancy Bolt, Liz Bishoff, and Gary Pitkin will present the ASCLA Library Consultants Code of Ethics adopted in 2012. They will give short stories about issues faced, as consultants and then open it up for other stories or questions. This promises to be an interesting and lively discussion.
