    The LCIG Leadership Team is pleased to announce the following activities at the ALA Midwinter meeting in Seattle, January 25-28, 2013. Registration for the Midwinter COnference is now open on the ALA site.

    Library Consultants Networking Luncheon – Saturday January 26, 2013, noon – 2:00 pm
    This ticketed event is open to all interested library consultants. Conference attendance is not required. Meet and share experiences with library consultants and independent librarians who work in the library and information field.

    Library Consultants Interest Group Leadership Team - Sunday January 27, 2013 3:00 – 4:00 pm
    The Library Consultants Interest Group (LCIG) Leadership team will review and plan for library consultant education and networking activities at conferences and throughout the year. All interested library consultants are invited to participate. The Leadership Team welcomes new faces, ideas and suggestions for additional members of the Leadership Team. The Library Consultants Discussion Forum will follow the Leadership Team meeting.

    Library Consultants Discussion Forum  - Sunday January 27, 2013  4:30 – 5:30 pm
    The discussion will focus on ethical issues confronted by library consultants in their work. This discussion builds on the ASCLA Library Consultants Code of Ethics, developed by the Library Consultants Interest Group (LCIG) and approved by the ASCLA Board in 2012. The discussions will be moderated by Stephanie Gerding and include presenters Nancy Bolt, Gary Pitkin and others. Library Consultants and those considering consulting are welcome to participate. The Library Consultants Interest Group welcomes new faces, ideas and suggestions.

    ASCLA /COSLA Reception – Sunday January 27, 2013  8:00 – 10:00 pm
    All Library Consultant Interest Group members are invited to join ASCLA members and others for a relaxing evening of conversation and networking.

    Looking forward 
    The Library Consultants Interest Group (LCIG) will also be active at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago, June 28 – July 2, the LCIG will sponsor three conference programs. ASCLA and the LCIG are also planning an excellent pre-conference workshop that will be held on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning prior to the Conference. Watch for details. The LCIG Leadership Team will meet at the ASCLA All Committee meeting. The LCIG-sponsored conference programs include:

    Beyond Brainstorming: Making More Effective Decisions with Joan Frye Williams

    Do Those Evaluation Numbers Mean Anything? including a panel with staff from IMLS and people who evaluate library services and programs
