Engineering/Science Librarian - University of Wisconsin-Madison (2 Positions)

The UW-Madison General Library System seeks two innovative, enthusiastic, and service-orientedlibrarians to join a team of science and engineering librarians in providing research and information services to our science and engineering community. The Science and Engineering Libraries in the General Library System are comprised of a collaborative network of seven libraries (Astronomy Library, Chemistry Library, Geology and Geophysics Library, Math Library, Physics Library, Steenbock Memorial Library, and Wendt Commons Library). Together, the science and engineering librarians have primary responsibility for serving the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), the College of Engineering (CoE), the sciencedepartments, centers and programs of the College of Letters & Science (L&S), the School of Human Ecology (SoHE), the School of Veterinary Medicine, and the UW Extension/Cooperative Extension. One position will be based in Wendt Commons Library and report to the Head of Wendt Commons. One position will be based in Steenbock Library and will report to the Head of Steenbock Library.

We seek librarians with interest and/or experience in engineering/scientific information, scholarly communication, research data management, outreach, instruction, and technology and who are prepared to contribute to shaping the future of library services to the science and engineering community. With current initiatives to develop a comprehensive scholarly communications program and a new service delivery framework, these positions will have exciting opportunities to impact the future directions of the UW-Madison Libraries. As a part of a liaison team, the Engineering & Science Librarians will engage with students, faculty, and staff to develop innovative services to support their teaching, learning and research needs, as well as engage in community outreach.
