It is with sadness that I share with you the passing of Stephanie Braunstein's Husband , Gary, yesterday. Stephanie served with many of us on Council as Louisiana Chapter Councilor before retiring to Florida just a few years ago. She was also heavily involved in GODORT. Here is her Caring Bridge Post. The link is there also if you wish to post your condolences to her on the Caring Bridge site.

Journal entry by Stephanie Braunstein - 2 hours ago
Yesterday evening, my husband, friend, and lover, Gary Richard Braunstein (4-7-1951 to 6-26-2020) was finally released from the misery of his disease. At the end, it was so difficult to watch his decline. He was a complex person: he loved attention but was so adverse to it especially as he became more and more debilitated. He was not vain, but I know that it upset him terribly to see how emaciated and weak he had become. Nick and I were with him at the hospital hospice center 2 hours before he passed. We told him how much we loved him, and I hope that he heard us. They tell me that the last of the senses to go is the sense of hearing; so even though he could not acknowledge that he heard us, I'm praying that he did. Please do not call me for a while, and send no flowers or other gifts please. He wanted to be cremated quietly with no special observance. Please help me keep the promise I made to him about that. I am attaching a photo taken of him when he was young and healthy. The photo, taken by my cousin Gary Cooper, shows Gary Braunstein feeling pleased with life as he surveys New York's Times Square. He always liked this photo, and we had it framed and displayed in our home wherever we lived. Thank you all for your care and love.
