This space is for all those interested in updates and discussion regarding Transforming ALA Governance. This space was originally created to share the work of the Steering Committee on Organizational Effectiveness (SCOE) who was charged in June 2018 to carry out a comprehensive review and study of ALA’s governance, member participation and legal structures and systems, with the goal of proposing changes that will vitalize its success, strength and agility as a 21st century association. The results of this committee are the Forward Together recommendations.

The attached document is provided on behalf of the current Committee on Accreditation for consideration by SCOE.  It provideds some general information about the Committee of which some ALA members may not be aware.  We encourage further work on the structure of COA as SCOE recommendations are taken into consideration by the executive board.

    Hi Everyone!

I thought it would be a good idea to give everyone an update on what happened with this conversation. In October, at the Executive Board's Fall Meeting, a motion was passed to create a working group to address and investigate the concerns outlined by the Committee on Accreditation. More information can be found in Executive Board document ebd 12.19 COA/SCOE Working Group and more details will be forthcoming on this work.
