    Has anyone seen anything about the Annual registration fees being refunded?

    ​I hope they will give us the option of just leaving the money with ALA and applying it to Midwinter or Annual registration fees.  I know it costs money to do refunds and they probably need the cash.  I'm happy to let them hold if for me.  That's what United Airlines does.  Of course, they don't give me a choice.

    I agree that keeping the money with ALA makes sense. The tricky part is that I get reimbursed by my organization for conference fees (others must too) and I don't quite know how we can make that happen. Am I pre-paying for conference fees for coming years? Just leaving money in an account with ALA will be unlikely to be a "reimbursable expense".

    Maeve, your question makes since for libraries paying for their staff to go.  I wonder the percentage of people paying their own registration fees, vs libraries paying for their staff.  I'm suggesting it be a choice offered to those who have registered so if you need the fees back, you would get them.  As a member who pays her own way, I would have the choice to leave them with ALA.

    What are you reading?

    Now Reading:  Waiting for the Moon.  An early Kristin Hannah that I bought years ago that she autographed to me.  Interesing plot but poorly written.  Doctor who can sense people's thoughts when he touches them encounters a young girl amnesiac whose thoughts he cannot sense after touching.  He first treats her as a scientific study then falls in love.  And, of course, her past life intervenes.  Not worth you time, unless you are a real romance lover.

    Last Movie:   Crip Camp.  On Netflix.  Story of a summer camp in the 1960s, run by hippies, for "crips."  First half has amazing footage of the camp. Second half shows how these same campers became the lead in the fight for the American with Disabilities Act, particulary section 504 which prevents discrimination.  It would look very historical except that Betsy DeVoss is now trying to gut the ADA.

    I am happy to leave that $ for next year's Annual conference (which will also be in chicago)

    that is my preferred action actually
    But I would like to get some written statement on this.

       I had the same concern.  After I made my choice, I was redirected  to the Compuserve registration page, and there was no confirmation of what my choice was or even that it had been received.  At this point I'm confused and unsure of what to do next.

    The confirmation text didn't show up for me but when I went back to the conference dashboard I saw it under the "demographics" tab like in the image above. I think it is not showing up upon submission but showing up in this tab.

    I never received the email or a response from the email address.  I sent the email a week ago.  I am concerned because it is my library's money and the Fiscal Officer is watching for a refund.
