    Job Type/Schedule:  This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week. 


     


    Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Olin Library at the Danforth Campus.


     


    Essential Functions 


    POSITION SUMMARY:


     


    Incumbent will select and acquire library materials and serve as liaison to several academic departments and programs; participate in user education activities; assist in training library staff and students; and participate in relevant professional development activities.


     


    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


     


    Engage in collection development and outreach activities for History department, Religious Studies program and Danforth Center for Religion and Politics. Participate in relevant instruction and training activities.


    Provide broad-based, and subject-specific, research assistance to the WUSTL community.


    Engage in campus-wide initiatives, consortia partnerships, and regional, state or national organizations as appropriate to foster new partnerships in support of the Library’s goal to expand its research through engagement. Serves on library, university, and professional committees and projects as elected or appointed and perform other duties as assigned or appointed.


    Support scholarly communication and data curation activities by educating the informing faculty, students, librarians and campus administrators about scholarly communications trends and issues.


     


     Required Qualifications 


     MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program, or equivalent combination of education and experience


    Experience working in instruction or collection development


    Experience with building internal/external relationships and partnerships


    Excellent communication skills (oral and written)


    Ability to work as a part of a team and alone equally well while meeting project timelines.


    Demonstrated ability as a self-starter


    Ability to deal with rapidly changing professional environment


    Demonstrated service attitude


    Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment


     


     Preferred Qualifications 


     Masters in History and Religious Studies


    Ability to read German, French or Italian preferred


    Familiarity with the academic library environment


     


     Salary Range 


     The hiring range for this position is $46,215 - $60,080 annually.
