I look forward to seeing you all at ALA Annual next weekend. As you know, we will meet directly after the OCLC Dewey Update Breakfast. There is a change to the schedule this year, however.
ALA has announced that a memorial event for the Pulse shooting victims will be held from 8:00-8:30 AM in the Convention Center. Because of this schedule change, the Dewey Breakfast presentations will start earlier than usual beginning at 7:00 AM while we enjoy breakfast together and then suspend the meeting from 7:45-8:40 AM to allow attendees to attend the memorial event. At 8:40 the Dewey Breakfast meeting will continue and then roll directly into the ALCTS Public Libraries Technical Service IG meeting, which I am chairing.
I hope you will all come to the second half to hear about the newest AutoDewey developments at the Library of Congress and to hear Michele Zwierski from Nassau County Library System talk about matching and "nearly" matching bibliographic records in the online catalog.
We will also have nominations and elections for the chair/vice-chair or chair/co-chair at this meeting.
We will be in the Hilton Orlando, Orange Ballroom C, Saturday, June 25.
See you soon!
