    Dear Council,

    I am submitting on behalf of the Intellectual Freedom Committee, for your review and feedback, the following documents:

    • "Library Bill of Rights Article VII"
    • "Prisoners' Right to Read: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights"
    • "Diversity in Collection Development: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights"
    • "Challenged Resources: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights"
    • "Meeting Rooms: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights" (distributed to Council on October 15, 2018)

    These documents are in their near-final form. The committee will review them, discuss any changes, and vote at the Midwinter Meeting on the final drafts. If you wish to discuss any of these documents in person, I plan to attend the Council Forums on Sunday and Monday mornings. The committee anticipates that these documents will be presented to the ALA Council for approval at Council III.

    Please share these documents with your members and member groups, and encourage them to provide feedback.
