This space is for all those interested in updates and discussion regarding Transforming ALA Governance. This space was originally created to share the work of the Steering Committee on Organizational Effectiveness (SCOE) who was charged in June 2018 to carry out a comprehensive review and study of ALA’s governance, member participation and legal structures and systems, with the goal of proposing changes that will vitalize its success, strength and agility as a 21st century association. The results of this committee are the Forward Together recommendations.

    Hello Everyone,

    We know that this space hasn't been very active as much of the work of Forward Together during the last year or so has been conducted within the ALA Council through various working groups and task forces.     May I share these documents with Texas Library Assn Leadership in my report due soon? Or are these internal only as yet? thanks for keeping me straight - this is muddy territory from my point of view.

    Hello Dorcas,
    Yes, by all means share these documents with the Texas Library Association and whoever else might be interested in reading them. They were sent first to Council for consideration for this month's discussion and Council sessions, but they are not internal documents.
