    Looking for suggestions/recommendations for "outstanding" library annual reports. We are looking for samples that are engaging, innovative and visually appealing. Do you have any suggested samples or articles/books on the topic?

    Ours are at https://durhamcountylibrary.org/about/publications/ (right-most tab), and I definitely agree with Steven's suggestion to focus on people.

    For an easy way to get inspiration outside of libraryland, I recommend getting a copy of Communication Arts' most recent Design Annual (and their Advertising Annual and Typography Annual too, if you've got more research funds).  These will give you a good feel for current approaches to interesting design, and I believe the Design Annual even has an annual reports category!

    Here are examples of our annual reports from the last two years. We try to keep it to one page front and back so we can hang them in the library and pass out copies to key players at the school. The shorter infographic style does force you to cut down the amount of information provided, but it seems like more teachers stop to read it.

    It is so cool to see so many examples of different annual report designs!

    Here are a pair from American University Libraries in Washington, DC that won us (Fearless Future) design awards.
    Both of these are hybrid reports: online microsite and small companion print publication:
    2014-2015 Annual Report  This print piece folded out to a useable poster, images from AU's special collection
    2015-2016 Annual Report  This print piece was a summary of the online site-about 16 pages total

    HCPL went to an Executive Summary format a few years ago and it has proven to be very popular.   It is Here is a link to 2018 and previous years.  It is a custom designed trifold and can be printed out on one page from the web.   We saved so much money going to this format and people actually read it!

    Hi all, here are a couple of Vaughan Public Library's Annual Reports.  We distribute our annual reports to all households within our community, thus they serve a twofold role of reporting as well as promoting VPL programs and services to the community at large.  Cheers!
