Madison Public Library (MPL) is a dynamic organization that actively embraces the changing role of libraries. Our new Central Library opened in 2013, featuring a fully equipped media lab, gigabit connectivity, ample meeting rooms, and our critically acclaimed Bubbler program which has since been able to expand through major grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Our eight neighborhood libraries have similarly embraced new services and technology, such as our Meadowridge Library's community kitchen that will support youth nutrition and food preparation programs. At MPL we encourage creativity, innovation, imagination, and going beyond the traditional or expected; our outstanding and collegial workforce is highly valued by the community, and includes staff members who have received national recognition or awards for their work at MPL.
Madison Public Library seeks a creative and innovative Librarian who will develop relationships with and provide services to Madison area technologists, entrepreneurs and businesses. This position will play a key role in developing the library's web services while ensuring that such services serve all Madisonians, including unserved and underserved individuals and groups. Consistent with our mission and vision, this position cultivates community partnerships which foster the availability of technologies that support opportunities to learn, share and create. Familiarity with emerging technologies is a plus. Excellent project management and web development skills are essential.
