  • 1.  My sincerest apology

    Dear ALA Councilors and Guest:

I would like to apologize formally and publicly to our wonderful President, Julius C. Jefferson, Jr., and to Council for speaking out of turn today... addressing our President in such an informal way and allowed my teasing nature to get out of hand.  While I meant no disrespect and was just "playing" with him, my comments and scolding resulted in embarrassment and insult to our President.  I would have never done that intentionally and just wasn't thinking about the impact or the consequences.  It was totally inappropriate and unprofessional and for the damage or hurt feelings caused, I am truly sorry!

I hope that Council and especially President Jefferson will forgive my thoughtlessness and unprofessionalism and instance of bad judgement.  I appreciate his leadership in our association so much and have enjoyed being on his advisory committee these past two years.  Again, I am truly sorry!
