    Dear fellow Scholars Community,

The 2019 election has been completed, the members of the 2020 ALA Nominating Committee have begun their work to develop a slate of candidates for next year's election in the spring of 2020.

If you have ever wanted to step up and serve our dear profession and our organization, this letter is for you!  Now is the time to ensure your community's voice is heard, and for you to ensure that information from ALA leadership is properly communicated back to your community, you can be that conduit.  We would like you to consider being a possible nominee to stand for election on the 2020 ballot for a three-year term as Councilor-at-large. You will have an active role in our organization and in its future.  We sincerely hope that you will seriously consider seeking nomination this year.

If you are interested, please indicate your willingness to be considered as a potential candidate for the 2020 election by completing the "Nominated Councilor-at-Large" Candidate Biographical Information Form at:  https://www.directvote.net/alanomination/2020users.html

Please complete the form by July 10, 2019.   If you are selected for inclusion on the 2020 Nominating Committee's slate of candidates, you will be notified in mid-August as we finalize the slate.

The 2020 ALA elections will take place March 9 – April 1, 2020, with results being announced on April 9, 2020. The elected Councilors-at-Large will serve three-year terms, beginning after the 2020 ALA Annual Conference and ending at the adjournment of the 2023 Annual Conference.

Feel free to contact any member of the 2019 ALA Nominating Committee, listed below, if you have questions.

Thank you for your willingness to be considered for nomination as a Councilor-at-large.

    Warmest regards,

    Emmanuel Faulkner
