Council members,
as we approach ALA Annual, if you are developing a resolution that might require a financial review by the Budget Analysis and Review Committee (BARC), you may email me directly to provide a draft or alert. Advance notice may assist us in gathering details prior to the formal resolution submission which can facilitate a timely review and response.
BARC is committed to responding to quickly to Council although we cannot guarantee the time frame depending on the particulars. We want to avoid if possible, a delay in consideration until the next ALA conference. Having a draft resolution in advance assists us in working with the ALA Finance Office to assess possible financial implications.
I will monitor the ALA Council list and Connect but an email alert is extremely helpful to identify resolutions that may come to BARC.
