Susan, can you post this to ALA Council list? Update on what the survey results are for the first 24 hours (n=213).
__
FYI that we have just published the results of the analysis for the first 24 hours of the survey (n=213) on Academic Library Response to COVID19 at https://sr.ithaka.org/blog/academic-library-response-to-covid19/.
We are continuing survey. We invite all US Academic Libraries to respond. It is taking 5-10 minutes for people to fill it out.
If a library submits and policies/practices change, use the same website to submit an update. Please note: We would ask that you only submit information for your own library.

Thank you!
Lisa

Susan,
Can you forward to Council list as FYI? We are only collecting data on academic library response but there is both a survey (just for academic libraries) and a live report of the results as submitted (which would be more generally useful).
We are gathering information on academic libraries in the United States and the response to COVID19. We very much appreciate you filling out this form and contributing to our collective understanding of how libraries are responding to the situation of this pandemic. Please note: We would ask that you only submit information for your own library. The link to the survey is: https://surveys.ithaka.org/jfe/form/SV_8qN8F2274hMBBBz Live results as surveys are submitted displayed at: https://ql.tc/aAaxhh If you have questions, please email both of us: Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe (lisalibrarian@gmail.com) and Christine Wolff-Eisenberg (christine.wolff-eisenberg@ithaka.org).

Hi all:
Is ALA and/or any of the divisions working on a response to the Coronavirus pandemic? For me, more specifically, about the practice of academic libraries remaining open to patrons when classes have moved to the online environment. This practice seems counter to the purpose of “social distancing” in moving classes online to try to stem the tide of this disease. I know there are no easy answers to this but it would be helpful for a response from ALA.
Thank you for your consideration,
Susan Jennings
