Please Consider Endorsing Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures, a Proposed Division of ALA

Good morning, Fellow Councilors! I am reaching out to ask that you endorse Core, a propose division that would merge ALCTS, LITA, and LLAMA.
This proposed division would provide a shared organizational home for colleagues in these three divisions whose work and missions are inextricably interlinked and model a sustainable path forward for three divisions by stabilizing their budgets and staff.

Collaborating across divisions to develop the Mission, Vision, and Values of Core, as well as the Core Proposal, has been a tremendous professional privilege. I am very proud of what we have accomplished, but we need help to ensure Core is adequately communicated to those who will decide its fate

As a colleague, I am asking you to endorse the work that has taken place and Core as a future division. Core will be on the ballot in March, and we are building support in the time leading up to the vote. Your endorsement will help others see themselves in Core, which must pass by majority of each of the three divisions separately to be enacted.

There are two ways to #EndorseCore. Please consider doing both.

    1) Using any social media platform, you can express support using hashtag #EndorseCore. Example post: "I #EndorseCore and will be voting "yes" on #TheCoreQuestion in March. I hope you'll join me!"

    2) Please add your name and affiliation on our Core Endorsement google doc.
In closing, if you are a member of ALCTS-LITA-LLAMA, please vote "yes" on Core in March. If you have questions on the merger process or endorsement or anything about Core, please do not hesitate to be in touch. A secondary ask, though optional, would be that you forward this message or one like it to your own colleagues as a means of galvanizing support.
Thank you for your help and consideration.
