To: ALA Councilors and Board Members of ALA's Ethnic Caucuses
Following in Sara Dallas' Footsteps: Happy New Year to all of my colleagues -
GLBTRT has a request for feedback in anticipation of a resolution that I will be bringing to Council at Midwinter titled: Proposed Definition of Sex under Title IX, of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
I am writing in advance of Midwinter so that you will have time to ask questions, propose changes in wording, or just give your general feedback. I am also asking for your support and that of your board if you represent a division, chapter or round table or an ALA ethnic caucus..
GLBTRT would appreciate initial feedback on Proposed Definition of Sex under Title IX, of Title VII of the Civil Rights Actby TuesdayJanuary 15 or earlier. Please feel free to share this message widely.
We are seeking Councilors who would be wiling to sign on as seconders, Endorsers (Divisions, Round Tables, Chapters, Ethnic Affiliates) as well as ALA Member Endorsers.
Feedback can be posted in the following two ways:
- Post feedback on this Google Doc draft:
-
- https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EJaS2WyvnNmRNoZ6nb8UHKFxPQKemB2YcLMlUd5QZXs/edit
-
- GLBTRT requests that you post comments on the document, rather than edit the document directly. To post a comment, select "Insert" in the top menu, and then click "Comment." Comments may be posted anonymously (if you're not signed into a Google account) or publicly (if you're signed into your Google account).
- Using "track changes," add comments and edits to the attached Word doc draft.
-
- You can also email me at (ann.symons@gmail.com) or post it as a comment to this ALA Connect post, and I'll forward it to the GLBTRT Board.
We will make changes to this draft in light of your suggestions and plans to distribute the document to ALA Council prior to the Midwinter Meeting in Seattle. GLBTRT plans to submit this resolution to the ALA Resolutions Committee at the beginning of Midwinter.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions, and please let me know if you have any questions,
Ann K. Symons, GLBTRT Councilor

Thanks,
Ann
