Dear ALCTS Metadata Interest Group Members,

Two items of note from the past week's virtual meetings of CC:DA (Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access): 1) A revised proposal for a new RDA element Curator, drafted by ARLIS-NA in conjunction with NARDAC and the CC:DA 3R Project Task Force, has been posted for comment to the CC:DA Blog.  The comment period closes on July 31.  2) A new CC:DA task force is being formed to issue a response to the SAC-SSFV (ALCTS-CaMMS Subject Advisory Committee, Special Subcommittee on Faceted Vocabularies) paper Best Practices for Recording Faceted Chronological Data in Bibliographic Records  This task force has a short turnaround--the response must be issued by 14 August 2020.  Anyone interested should contact the CC:DA Chair Amanda Ros by Monday 20 July.  Membership on the task force is open to anyone interested; the task force chair must be a CC:DA voting member or liaison, however.
