Bio

I am an information professional with over ten years of experience with libraries (academic, public, school, special), government, and non-profits. For many years my specialty was youth services in a public library setting where I mainly served the tween and teen populations. In this role, I provided reference services, homework assistance, created engaging displays, provided entertaining and informational events, and technology instruction. I then turned to academic libraries where I provided reference services, developed and performed instruction sessions, collaborated with academic departments, and managed the legal, education, science, and technology collections. My focus has since changed to digital asset management which includes cataloging, document indexing and abstracting, taxonomy management, database management, and metadata. I have been active in professional organizations both locally and nationally with the American Library Association (ALA), Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), Special Library Association (SLA) and Virginia Library Association (VLA).

Subject matter experience with anime, computer science, criminal justice/legal, early childhood education, graphic novels, manga, and psychology.
