Upcoming Assessment DG Conversations

  • 1.  Upcoming Assessment DG Conversations

    Posted Oct 02, 2024 03:04 PM

Welcome to a new academic year from your friendly DG co-conveners!

We've met and discussed how best to approach this year and decided that hosting three online conversations hits the right balance of meeting often enough to be meaningful and not so often that we're crowding already-packed calendars. We also wanted to go ahead get these dates on your calendars for the full year so that everyone has lots of lead time.

We'll host a single conversation this fall, followed by two in the spring:

For the November conversation, please consider the following prompt:

What have you heard, read, watched, etc. recently that got you thinking about library assessment work in some way? This could anything from scholarly research or conference presentations to pop culture! Perhaps it has given you a new idea for a project or had you reconsider how you approach assessment. Maybe it has energized you – or maybe you're still working through what it means to you or library assessment work generally. All shares and ideas are welcome!

We look forward to seeing some of you next month, and will send out reminders in advance of each scheduled conversation.

Anita R. Hall, Assessment & Analytics Librarian, University of Louisville Libraries

Susanna M. Cowan, Library Assessment Strategist, UConn Library

PS – feel free to use this DG to share if you plan to be at the November 6-9 Library Assessment Conference in Portland, Oregon. We can all be on the lookout for each other! (Both of us will be there 😊)
