Hello!
Please pay attention. This is a time-sensitive message! (and a time-sensitive campaign).
ALA has opted to assist a group of students working on the Bateman Competition, a national public relations effort coordinated by the Public Relations Student Society of America in conjunction with a non-profit organization. PRSSA selected EveryLibrary/EveryLibrary Institute, a political action committee that's committed to advocating for intellectual freedom and freedom for public libraries across the United States. EveryLibrary serves as the client for this competition.
In order to inform their campaign, they are conducting a survey that aims to gather insights on how libraries are funded, supported, and how they address challenges like censorship and book bans. Your responses will help us better understand public perceptions of library funding, community engagement, and the importance of protecting intellectual freedom in libraries.
The campaign being developed by these students will not be seen or reviewed by Every Library/EveryLibrary Institute until the conclusion. Your participation is confidential. The students are learning how to design, launch, and evaluate a public relations campaign. The team is from Robert Morris University and calls themselves the Allegheny Advocates.
ALA supports this effort and requests your participation in the research-gathering component of the campaign. Again, your participation is confidential and you may choose not to participate in this effort.

The deadline for your participation is Thursday February 27, 2025, at midnight. Let's help these RMU students develop a phenomenal campaign that advocates for libraries across the USA. Thank you!
