Booking is now open for the ARLIS UK & Ireland 2025 annual conference!

This year, the conference takes place at Limerick School of Art and Design, at the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest. Under the theme 'Stacks, Studio and Beyond: Artists and the Art Library', the conference will look at the lifecycle of the relationship between the artist and the art library, from the artist's education and artistic practice, to the preservation of artists' legacies and histories. We will delve into the innovative ways art libraries are supporting artists at the various phases of their creative life, and explore topics such as:
    •   The art library's role in Higher Education for the arts
    •   Artists' access to art libraries and their collections for research and inspiration
    •   Art libraries, artists and community engagement
    •   Sharing artistic legacies and cultural memory

We are thrilled to share that keynote speeches will be presented by Katherine McSharry (Deputy University Librarian at the University of Galway) and Virginia Teehan (Chief Executive at The Heritage Council).

We have had a fantastic response to our call for contributions, and a draft programme will be published in the coming weeks. Our programme will encapsulate a wide range of academic and non-academic content, and we encourage anyone who is inspired by or engaging with our theme to attend the conference, whether you are a student, library worker, curator, academic, artist, early career researcher, or independent scholar. We believe that a diverse range of contributors and delegates make our conferences all the richer.

There are a range of ticket types which we hope will make the conference accessible, including early bird tickets, concessionary tickets for freelance, independent, and unwaged individuals, and student tickets. Online tickets are also available for those who are unable to travel; with the exception of some the workshop content, the programme will be live-streamed and joining links shared prior to the conference. Please review the ticket types to see what's best for you.

Additionally, ARLIS UK & Ireland are pleased to be offering a set of bursaries and student awards to support attendance at this year's conference. The support includes a free ticket to the conference, plus expenses for travel and accommodation. These are aimed at individuals based both in Ireland and the UK. Please read the information in the Awards section of our website to see if you are eligible: https://arlis.net/careers/awards/

More information about the conference, the venue, and how to book can be found on the ticket page: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/arlis-uk-ireland-conference-2025-tickets-1307798383169?aff=oddtdtcreator&_gl=1%2A1rllygz%2A_up%2AMQ..%2A_ga%2AODM5MDkwMTA1LjE3NDM1MDI2MzQ.%2A_ga_TQVES5V6SH%2AMTc0MzUwMjYzMy4xLjEuMTc0MzUwMjc3Mi4wLjAuMA..

Further information can be found on the ARLIS UK & Ireland website and you can contact the ARLIS Conference Working Party directly by emailing arlisconference25@gmail.com.

We hope to see you in July!

    Best wishes,
