    Hi Health Sciences Interest Group,

What competencies, standards, guidelines, and ethics are relevant for Medical Librarians  (and/or just in the librarianship profession in general)?

    Hi Bryan,

The Medical Library Association has set competencies for health sciences librarians for many years. The latest set can be found here:

    https://www.mlanet.org/p/cm/ld/fid=1217

I encourage you to dig deep on these and the two textbooks edited by M. Sandra Wood for a better understanding. In the health professions there's a lot of attention paid to professional competencies and these reflect this view. Hope this helps!!

    Jon

    Hi Jonathan,

May you provide name of the two textbooks by M. Sandra Wood? I think I found one on Amazon called Health Sciences Librarianship. I am not sure about the other one.
