    Dear survey recipients,

     

    We are emailing to invite you to participate in our survey about librarian career satisfaction and its links to the big five personality inventory traits. The purpose of the research is to compare librarian personality traits (as measured by an abbreviated version of the big five personality inventory) to other disciplines and to assess librarian job satisfaction according to type of library worked in, time spent in career, gender of librarian, etc. Some demographic factors will be requested to inform result analysis; however, IP addresses and personally identifying information will not be collected. This survey is anonymous to encourage honest participation and feedback.

    If you participate in this survey, you will answer 11 multiple choice questions plus the BFI-10 inventory scale, which is 10 Likert scale questions. You may skip any questions that you are not comfortable answering. You may exit the survey at any time. There are minimal risks to participation in this survey. Potential risks include discomfort with questions. Benefits of taking this survey include contributing to a study that will add to librarianship literature and facilitate discussion about our careers, personalities, and any links between these and satisfaction.
