ACRL/PPIRS AI Literacy Discussion Group

To provide a forum for fellow PPIRS librarians to share their experiences and ideas about how AI technologies affect their professional work. This group discussion will focus on recent advances in free and subscription generative AI tools that are actively in use by students, faculty, and staff in higher education. As these tools and their underlying technologies are advancing quickly, it is helpful to have an ongoing conversation with our peers to compare best practices and discoveries.
You can post to the list by sending an email to ALA-ACRL-PPIRS-AIL-DG@ConnectedCommunity.org or by creating a new discussion post directly in the Connect community.

    Dear PPIRS AI Group

Just read this article. It talks about AI companies, especially OpenAI marketing to college students to help them with end of semester research assignments.  It also discusses different ways college students / Gen Z are using AI in their personal lives (i.e. relationship advice and what to order from the fast food drive-thru)

I thought this group might find it helpful.

In the 2010s, Millennials got cheap Ubers. Today's young people are getting free SuperGrok.
