    Study Name: Social Science Librarianship Today

    Frans Albarillo (https://www.brooklyn.edu/faculty-staff/frans-albarillo/) is recruiting 40 social science librarians from various settings to discuss what library work was like with social science departments and student services offices before, during, and after COVID-19. As a token of appreciation, participants will receive a $50 gift card from GiftCards.com.

    Population
    The target population of social science librarians includes those who:
    • Currently work in an academic library setting.
    • Currently support social and behavioral sciences departments.
    • Worked through the COVID-19 pandemic (i.e., before and after March 11, 2020, when the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic).
    Recruitment Survey

    Frans will contact you in two or three days after completing the brief survey. 
    Interview Details
    Recruitment Period: August - December 31, 2024
    Duration: 60 minutes for an individual in-depth interview
    Platform: Zoom (link to be provided upon confirmation)
    Recording: Please note that the interview will be recorded for research purposes.
    Ethical Considerations
    This study has received approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant or if you would like to speak with someone other than the researchers, you can contact the CUNY Research Compliance Administrator at 646-664-8918 or HRPP@cuny.edu. The IRB project protocol is 2024-0043-Brooklyn.
    Participation is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time without penalty. All data collected will be anonymized before analysis to ensure confidentiality.
