And the link to our shared discussion questions document. I've highlighted our "likeliest questions".
I am so excited to be in community with y'all!
warmly,
Dear colleagues and friends:
This message is coming to you because you're identified as a member of the BIPOC membership recipient community, the ACRL EDI Committee, or the ACRL Board of Directors. I'm so happy to be reaching out to you-especially to remind you of the Community Chat we get to have this upcoming Thursday, 3/16, at 2:10 p.m. ET.
I'm very excited about this opportunity for the EDI Committee, Board of Directors, and BIPOC membership recipients to get to connect.
As a reminder, here's an excerpt of the description for the Community Chats format:
"Want to get together with your fellow folks of any feather? Here is your chance to discuss, commiserate, and laugh with others who share similar interests. Community Chats are 50-minute informal sessions that provide space for unique communities to connect in-person in Pittsburgh or virtually."
Folks have been brainstorming discussion questions at this shared document, and we encourage everyone to contribute! Currently, some of our likely discussion questions will be...
- something social/personal, like...
- What's a recent podcast, TV show, read, or other media that you've really enjoyed?
- What do you like or love to do when you're not working?
- What does community look like to you, in a professional association like ACRL?
- What's been your best experience with ACRL?
All of these are optional. Of course, as you get to know me, you'll learn that I'm also always down to talk (*debate*) about food. Would love to see a food question get on the list!
There are more questions we'd like to discuss with each other. If you're interested in a follow-up, "let's dig into the issues" Community Chat, please mark your availability at this When2Meet by Monday, 3/20, at 5:00 p.m. PT. I'll send out calendar invites for that!
As soon as I know the link for this Thursday's Community Chat, you'll get it-meantime, please double-check you've got this time marked in your calendar.
warmly,
